Brenda and her squad seek the assistance of Provenza’s former partner, George Andrews but are worried about his credibility when he returns to Major Crimes and is now a woman…
[GEORGETTE] MALE ACTORS ONLY. Formerly known as GEORGE ANDREWS (50ish) Provenza’s former partner, a great cop who quite the force while still young in order to move to Seattle and get a sex change. He was a handsome and charming womanizer who was adept at seducing confessions from female murderers. He is living in Seattle working for Microsoft when Provenza contacts him about the Doris Osgood case. There is a lot of conflict between Georgette and Provenza due to the sex change. He refuses to take the stand as man, but agrees to interview Doris in the squad room as George. Even though he has had a sex change, he is still hyper masculine at times and must be believable as a cop. GUEST LEAD.
[DORIS OSGOOD] (early to mid 50s) Doris has been in prison for 7 years ever since George got her to confess she impersonated a nurse and poisoned her patient after robbing him. She has done this several times before and is an accomplished con artist. She is self-conscious about her appearance and still susceptible to George’s charm. GUEST STAR.
[TIM OSGOOD] (Early to mid 30s) Doris’s son is a security analyst for insurance companies and her accomplice in several murders. On the surface he has a buttoned down earnestness but he is actually a greedy and ruthless con artist. When he is led to believe his mother through him under the bus, he turns on her and admits that she killed a number of unsuspecting victims. GUEST STAR.
[ANITA CASEY] (75) A small, rich lady who believes that Doris Osgood murdered her father by pushing him down the stairs soon after their Monet went missing. She is sharp as a tack. GUEST STAR.

The Closer Season 5 Episode 10 “Signed, Sealed and Murdered”
Posted by: | CommentsA dead body arrives at the LAPD in a box and the victim is an unemployed surfer who scammed everyone in his life, leaving Brenda with way too many suspects.
MRS. DOBSON (50s) She is the mother of the murder victim, Doug Courtney. A widow, she remarried a religious fanatic and now lives in a trailer. Terrified of her husband and too weak and needy to stand up to him, she allowed him to banish her son from her life. She is consumed with grief over abandoning her son. Or did she listen to her husband and take part in her son’s murder? GUEST STAR
MR. DOBSON (50s) A religious fanatic whose trailer is adorned with lots of crosses and bible quotes. He is very scary and has a lot of rage and anger. He is also a control freak and hated his stepson who would not toe the line. He is major suspect in Doug’s murder. ONE DAY GUEST STAR.
TARA LATIMER (20s) Doug’s former girlfriend is very pretty and still mad at Doug, whom she supported and was betrayed by him when he slept with another woman in their bed. She hasn’t seen him in three yeas but her hatred has not subsided. She worked her way through school as a blackjack dealer and is now a social worker. ONE DAY GUEST STAR.
PETER WALLACE (early 30s) Doug Courtney’s best friend since high school who is also a surfer. Only now he is also the owner of a very high end real estate business. He is good looking and fit. Doug owed him $10,000 and he embarked on an elaborate scheme to get the money back. But did he kill him? GUEST STAR.
MR. GAVIOTA (late 50s) Doug’s former landlord who is also owed a lot of money. He is very angry with Doug about that and also because Doug slept with his daughter sptv050769. Character type. Angry and aggressive. Also a suspect in the murder. ONE DAY GUEST STAR. ALL ETHNICITIES.
GREG LEWIS (40s) The owner of Stow Nuff Storage, where Doug Courtney had a unit. After not hearing from Doug for three years, he tried calling the police to pick up Doug’s trunk. Having no luck with the police, he mailed the trunk to them – which turned out to have Doug’s body in it. He is highly irritable and curmudgeonly. ONE DAY GUEST STAR.
MAILMAN (30s) Male or Female. He/She delivers the box to the police station that contains Doug Courtney’s dead body. CO STAR. ALL ETHNICITIES.
The Closer: Preview of Episode 5.2 “Blood Money”

The Closer – “Blood Money” – Brenda’s (Kyra Sedgwick) team is led to think that a crime isn’t what it seems to be. A rich financier under investigation for ripping off investors seems as if he was kidnapped. During the probe, meanwhile, Gabriel tries to cover the forensic accounting duties since Det. Daniels was just promoted to another division. Finally, Brenda and Fritz’s lovable cat Kitty is enduring serious medical issues.
If you think this episode of The Closer is far too similar to real life and Sedgwick’s tiff with now convicted financier Bernard Madoff, then you’re not alone. The 43-year-old actress and her actor-husband Kevin Bacon was reportedly victimized by the massive Ponzi scheme, but she said they didn’t lose everything in the scam.
“I think the interesting thing about it was that I always thought, `We’re so boring. We should be in the tabloids more. C’mon honey, let’s have a scandal,” she said. “Well, it wasn’t the truth that we were destroyed. It’s been really unpleasant and makes you feel really vulnerable. But the fact of the matter is that we did not lose everything. We lost hard-earned money that we worked very hard for that was what we thought in a safe place. It’s painful but a lot of people lost a lot more. And we have a lot of things to be grateful for in our life, and we never ever forget that.”
The Closer’s last episode – and season 5 opener – reeled in 7.14 million viewers, a marked increase from the 6 mil that saw last season’s finale. On the episode, Brenda’s squad investigated a quadruple murder that had links to an FBI case. Each detective showed signs of their own personal connection to the case – with their own heartaches brought to surface by identifying with similar losses embodied in the homicide case.
